Just got back from a lovely Italian dinner on the waterfront, our brokers Roger and Dinah took us out and then took us for a drive around the island to show us the sights. We always seem to get lucky and find Americans who look out for us! Roger used to be in the Navy and did 3 tours of Vietnam, so he drove us around the deserted US Navy base that was on Alemada, they still have some old aircraft carriers here and all the aircraft hangers....huge area of deserted accomodations and barracks too.
Then after driving us past every Marine business we could possibly need once we get on the boat, they lent me a big warm jacket for our trip to Lake Tahoe. Amazingly lovely people. So tomorrow we head off for the 3 hour drive to Lake Tahoe were the reports say they have great snow. Yay, finally after 46 years I AM going to see SNOW!!!! Can't wait, I will probably freeze my patooti off, but it will be worth it!
Even Geoff is keen, in fact Geoff is having a ball over here.....he's mellow, relaxed, funny....hmmmm, WHO IS THIS MAN????? He even went on the wagon for the week and tonight had his first beer?
Below is a link to where we are at Alemada and Lake Tahoe.
Enjoy.
