Spent 4 hours eagerly crawling all over the boat today, looking at everything we needed to consider for a yacht to take us home. And sadly we realised that Sundance was not for us.
Great design, I just love the cockpit, the open transom and particularly the owners cabin. Lots of light and ventilation and a good solid feel on the water. But her age was showing in quite a few areas and when we did the list, we realised the work and the cost was too much. So sadly we had to go and reject the agreement and cancel the survey for tomorrow.
And now we have to start all over again. We have spent the afternoon, a bit numb as we sort of expected Sundance was pretty well the boat. Now we have just spent hours on the computer crawling over the Brokerage lists for California looking at our options. There are a few around here but a bit high in price for us. Then there are a few in San Diego that we could look at.
Tomorrow we will go open a Bank Account I hope and hold our dollars for hopefully the right boat for us!??
So it's not the end just Plan B!! We enjoyed sitting on the boat most of the day today, the weather has been exceptional 16 degrees C and sunny, with light breezes..hmmmm a good day for sailing the Bay I think!
It is a really lovely area around the bay and we hope now we have a bit (just a bit) more time to sightsee on our way south. Though Geoff did mention going north to Seattle to see the blizzard!!! Our car is a Toyota Prius and we had fun today when we couldn't get it to start!!! But we found out the correct steps to start an electric car properly and I took it for a spin tonight....look out! I want one when we get home, just love it.
okay it's 11.15 pm and Geoff is zoning out on the 60 plus channels of TV, so I better go and lay him down otherwise we won't wake up till 10am like today!!
