The little electric cars that a lot of the tradesmen use around Alameda. You can drive them on the roads here as the speed limit is 25mph!! And they cost about $2500 usd.

Today is very special because it's my Mum's Birthday!! Happy Birthday Ma :) We love you very much and miss you heaps. I wish I was there to give you a big warm hug and spoil you rotten. I know what we are doing over here is freaking you out, again.
It seems like the weather knows it is a special day for me being Ma's Birthday, because it turned on wonderful conditions today. It's Spring and flowers are popping up everywhere on the Island, birds are chirping, squirrels are chasing each other around amorously, in fact lots of creatures seem to be chasing other creatures around in a eager way? hmmmm, it certainly must be spring. The days are slowly getting warmer, the skies remain clear blue.
In the boating arena, our mast finally got put back on this afternoon and tomorrow morning they will tune the rig and we can go back to the Marina. Tonight we lay alongside the Yard dock. It's not so bad, very quiet and very calm. I have attached some photo's of the rig going on. It's a bit nerve racking watching your mast swing about on the end of a crane, but Sean and Neil the Yard owners casually tell us it's no problems with a small boat our size, piece of cake. Still looks scary to me.
We had a big buy up of gear for the boat this morning from West Marine, life jacket, harness, anchor light, lots of little bits and bobs for spares and improvements. Don't ask the total of today's spend! Lucky Geoff still has half pay coming in. This morning at Nob Hill, yes we went back there, it's really lovely. There were a group of Police bikes parked together and the guys were in the Cafe section of the Supermarket having Coffee. Sort of reminded me of my days at Hillsdon. They have the coolest bikes to ride as Police, check out the photo. I thought my Dad as an ex bike Cop may like to see these.
Besides that, we trawled the Hardware store "Pagano's" and after the Mast was on, ended up back at Nob Hill to have some Burritos at Taco Bell for dinner. Oh and Baskin & Robbin Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream! mmmmm. It's now a still clear 10 degrees at 9.35pm and Geoff is laying on the saloon settee reading his book and it feels comfortingly good to have our mast back on. Things are really starting to come together and the list is getting smaller.
